The Snow Leopard: Why It Is Our Logo
It took us nearly a year to create our logo which we felt would represent Life Being Single, always knowing it would be an animal. To us, it had to be gender neutral, be something completely unique and have an amazing meaning behind it which would represent the true core of Life Being Single.
The journey began mid-2018 when Ash came across an amazing visual of a white tiger, made by @theglitch.org. Shortly after, it just so happened we stumbled upon an incredible documentary about the Snow Leopard. This documentary went into great detail about their completely unique lifestyles, hunting traits, mating habits and finally, it showcased just how extremely striking they are in every aspect of the word. They are one of the most majestic animals on this planet, and sadly, currently on the endangered species list.
Outlined below is why we love this animal so much and why we felt it would be the perfect animal to represent Life Being Single.

Number 1
Visually
I’m sure we all can agree, the Snow Leopards are magnificent, elegant and come across as very mystical creatures. You can’t help but be drawn to their beauty, they are completely uniques in their own way and although they are not directly related to tigers, they are more a tiger than they are a panther, cheetah or other cat creatures. They have incredible features, such as a huge tail, fiercely beautiful eyes, striking thick fur coats with beautifully spotted patters, and paws perfectly designed for their environment. Plus, let’s be honest, they are extremely cute, especially the baby cubs.

Number 2
Their Environment
They are super tough, we have so much respect for the Snow Leopard. They are true hunters by nature, located in the high altitude mountain ranges across central and south-east Asia, resources for food are scarce with limited prey. They have to be clever when roaming the mountains looking for their next meal. While they will eat nearly anything, their choice of prey is the fast, sure-footed mountain goat, and so there is no room for error when it comes to the kill.
Very few humans are known for seeing a wild Snow Leopard, with the exception of local villagers who occasionally have their livestock raided when food becomes scares. It’s a sad fact, some Snow Leopards are shot dead by the villagers who need to protect their livestock, due to the shortage of food available for both humans and animals alike.
Due to the harsh conditions, the Snow Leopard population is decreasing and efforts are being made to prevent them from becoming extinct. The National Geographic Documentary talks more in-depth about the challenges of filming the Snow Leopards in these dangerous terrains. Fighting with below zero temperatures, low oxygen and finding these secretive cats who perfectly camouflage to their environment.

Number 3
Physical Traits
As mention above, Snow Leopards have a fur coat perfect suited to camouflage themselves in the mountain ranges, this helps them stalk their prey and keep them warm during the harsh weather conditions.
Their paws are designed like snowshoes to be light and quiet without sinking into fresh snow. They also have an amazing lung capacity and natural ability to breathe in high altitudes. Combined with their muscular frame, fast twitch muscles fibres and huge tail, helping them to navigate the steep and rugged terrains, making them the ultimate hunter!
Number 4
Their Mentality
The Snow Leopard will do whatever it takes to get the kill or protect themselves and their cubs from predators. Snow Leopards never give up and have a “to the death” mentality, as you can see from this video below:

Snow Leopards are very intelligent and calculate risk like a boss. They know the perfect time to strike or when to sit back to conserve their energy.
What stood out to us is they are known for being alone for the majority of their life and only seek to unite themselves with a female or male for the sole purpose of breeding. This typically happens once a year and towards the end of their harsh winters. The only time snow leopards are known for being together is when the mother is caring for her cubs, the siblings may briefly stay together, however, this is short lived. For the most part, they go their separate ways and prefer to live independently, fending for themselves.

Number 5
Spiritually
Their spiritual representation is the favourite part of what the snow leopards mean to us. They are a strong and unique spiritual animal, which we feel resonates with the whole philosophy behind Life Being Single.
The role of the Snow Leopard’s spirit is to be a guide to the higher realms. Its biggest lesson is teaching us the importance of self-reliance. Due to the nature of it being a solitary creature, which hunts, feeds and lives for the most part of its life completely alone. They are said to have developed a higher dimensional consciousness, relying on themselves and having deep trust in their true inner self.
It is said, due to the nature of the Snow Leopard living in the clouds (high mountain ranges), they are god-like creatures, who symbolise reaching a spiritual pinnacle of growth, achievement and accomplishment. They also represent trusting in your intuition to show you are on the right path and not to be afraid to chase your dreams.
Looking after themselves, they learn to trust their intuition and listen to their own instincts. Realising they are never truly alone, they come to terms with the importance of having a balanced life and self-reflection. The Snow Leopard can be seen as a representation of tapping into your psyche powers.
Snow Leopards teach us to keep a low profile, stay humble, listen, watch and learn, and go 100% at everything you put your hand to, whether it’s hunting in real life or a metaphor for your going 100% at your business ventures, work life or even your attitude toward self-development.
The below list are very commonly used words to describe the Snow Leopard:
– Self-Reliance
– Perceptive
– Balance
– Mystery
– Psychic
– Determination
– Divine
– Patience
– Purposeful
– Intuitive
In conclusion:
I’m sure we can all agree, the snow leopard has some amazing qualities. Whilst we are not saying you have to live a life of solitude like them, we can learn the importance of spending time alone for the increased self-reflection of our thoughts, desires and emotions. Becoming more self-reliant each day is true freedom. Without the need for external influence, we can develop our individual perspective of the world. To not drift and be driven by passion, to attack our goals and tackle every obstacle thrown at us.
Having this consistent attitude in seeking growth, being patient and growing a strong mentality is something we should all strive for. If the Snow Leopard can achieve these heightened senses in one of the harshest living conditions in the world, then we should be able to thrive in the truly amazing world we live in, no matter the situation we in currently. This is why we have chosen to represent Life Being Single with the iconic Snow Leopard.
